From March 1 to 3, Indian billionaires Nita and Mukesh Ambani invited guests from around the globe to the quaint city of Jamnagar in Gujarat to celebrate the upcoming union of their son Anant Ambani with his childhood sweetheart, Radhika Merchant. The three-day bash brimmed with opulent celebrations, from wildlife sanctuary lunches, to special musical performances by the likes of Rihanna and Akon. And in true Ambani style, the hosts were seen at each of their get-togethers in a series of awe-inspiring couture looks.
Just when followers of the Ambani pre-wedding thought they’d seen it all, however, we’ve now been treated to yet another look from bride-to-be Radhika Merchant, which is bound to strike a cord with fans of Middle Eastern fashion. For one of her many pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, the future Mrs Ambani posed for pictures dressed in an elegant powder pink look created by none other than Ashi Studio. Seen on Day 3 of her pre-wedding festivities, Radhika Merchant’s custom-made couture gown by Ashi Studio blended different cultural elements. The asymmetrical crepe gown, which came embroidered with silver crystal bows, featured a one-shoulder silhouette, cascading train, and for some structure, a statement crystal-studded belt. “I wore a pink gown that is meant to be my modern interpretation of the traditional saree,” Merchant revealed to Vogue. “Embellished with crystals, it is what I envisioned a Parisian saree to look like.”

With her Ashi Studio sari gown, Radhika Merchant opted for diamond jewelry that perfectly complemented the crystals that adorned her clothing. Her picks included a delicate headpiece known as a maang tikka, jhumka-style earrings, and hand jewelry called haathphools. A romantic makeup look in soft washes of pink, and pulled back locks added the final touches to her pre-wedding look.
