This week in June will go down as the most special in the life of Maritta Hallani, who got married to Kamil Abi Khalil yesterday. The Lebanese actor and singer tied the knot with the Anghami head of production in a civil marriage ceremony in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This was followed by a grander celebration which saw the daughter of pop icon Assi El Hallani champion her roots once again in a beautiful gown by Lebanese couturier Elie Saab.

While the bride wore a minimalistic white jumpsuit from the brand earlier in the day, she later switched to a more extravagant gown to embrace a modern-day princess aesthetic. Picked from Elie Saab Bridal’s Fall 2023 collection, the wedding dress featured a strapless bodice covered in embroidered leaves that cascaded down to the voluminous tulle skirt. The dreamy creation was paired with a veil attached to an embellished headpiece that sat above her sleek bun courtesy of renowned hairstylist Tony El Mendelek. For jewelry, the bride looked to Lebanese brand Onze Heures Onze for a silver choker with a geometric pattern, a dainty necklace and diamond stud earrings. Hallani’s lit-from-within glow for the big evening was enhanced by celebrity-loved makeup artist Bassam Fattouh, who worked his magic via his signature bridal glam. The dewy and fresh look came together with metallic peachy eyeshadow, defined but wispy lashes, pinky nude lip, and highlighted skin.

Moments from the wedding shared on social media show the newlyweds celebrating with their loved ones in an open setting decorated with plenty of foliage and lights. At one point during the night, the father of the bride, El Hallani took the stage to dedicate a special song to his daughter, while Hallani herself belted out some tunes alongside a piano. The gathering was also marked by the customary cutting of the cake—in this case, a tall, mult-tiered one with flowers—with a sword, as sparklers lit up the background.
