Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s Intimate Las Vegas Wedding: Everything We Know

Jennifer Lopez—excuse me, Jennifer Affleck—is a married woman. And thankfully, she’s just shared all the details.

After her Las Vegas nuptials with husband Ben Affleck on Saturday, July 16, Lopez shared a sneak peek of the secret ceremony with readers of her On the JLo newsletter. Here’s everything we know so far:

Viva Las Vegas!

Lopez writes that the Vegas experience is “exactly what we wanted.”

“Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” she said of the Vegas vibes. “Behind us two men held hands and held each other. In front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing— for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage.”

Jennifer wore a “dress from an old movie”

JLo (sorry, I’m not giving up “Lo” and I’m most certainly not writing “JAff”) notes that the ceremony was witnessed by “a dress from an old movie” and Ben’s tuxedo jacket, a little white number he had just laying around his closet (movie star things). Little detail is given about the rings, but no matter—I want more info on that dress!

Lopez has starred in numerous movies in which she wears wedding dresses—including 2022’s Marry Me, for starters. She also wears wedding dresses in Monster in Law (2005) and The Wedding Planner (2001), the latter of which is said to have inspired Meghan Markle’s gown from her 2018 royal wedding. But none of the three iconic wedding dresses appear to be JLo’s pick.

Oh, and there was a second dress

Lopez also wore a textured white dress at some point during the busy day.

“I’ve had this dress for so many years and I’ve been saving it and saving it and saving it, and now I’m wearing it on my wedding day,” Lopez tells the camera in behind-the-scenes video posted to her website, wearing the dress with a fitted bodice and flowing skirt. There looks a dress on the racks behind her, so maybe this dress was just for travel?

Don’t leave us in suspense, Jen!

Jennifer Lopez’s daughter Emme was there

The Afflecks are now a party of seven. Including Affleck’s three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner and Lopez’s twins Emme and Max from her marriage to Marc Anthony, the couple has “a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to.”

JLo shared a photo of Emme in the backseat of a pink convertible (care of the Little White Wedding chapel), though it’s unclear if the other four children attended the ceremony.

JLo is officially “Mrs. Affleck”

The multi-hyphenate signed her newsletter “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck,” which is led fans to wonder whether the “Lopez” is gone for good. Her Instagram bio still reads “Jennifer Lopez,” however, and her handle is still @jlo. So it looks like things will stay the same professionally—for now, at least.
