What’s more iconic than bringing your A-list partner and your kids to watch you get an award? Jennifer Lopez accepted the iHeartRadio Icon Award on Tuesday, March 22, and sitting front row to cheer her on were Ben Affleck, Affleck’s 10-year-old son Samuel, and Lopez’s 13-year-old daughter Emme.
Accepting her award in a sheer green gown with a plunging neckline by Stephane Rolland, Lopez couldn’t have looked more glam. She paused multiple times during her speech as the crowd kept cheering, and thanked her fans for supporting her dreams. “Don’t think that I don’t appreciate the shiny, sparkly things, because I do! I cannot lie, everybody knows that I do,” she said. “But this isn’t why I do this. It’s not what matters the most to me. I really do it for you guys.”
She concluded her speech with a call to strike down negativity and keep moving forward. “Icon! Icon! I can overcome negativity,” she said. “And so can you, every single moment. And let me tell you something else, I’m just getting started. I love you!”

Jennifer Lopez also performed at the event, introduced by Billy Porter and a series of drag queens who re-created some of her most iconic looks. Lopez herself sang a quick medley and (of course) showed off her impressive dance skills. In the front row, Olivia Rodrigo and her bestie Iris Apatow were thrilled, and skip ahead to the end to see Halsey mouth, “Oh. My. God.” (Or maybe “eye-kawn.”)
The first time Bennifer happened, neither Affleck nor Lopez had kids, so it’s heartwarming to see how they’ve blended their families this time around. Affleck is a huge fan of Lopez, not just as an artist but as a person. We highly suspect that he’s the man in her latest music video, and he made her a sweet montage set to her new song ‘On My Way’ for Valentine’s Day.
“I am going to share something very special and personal with you that normally that I would only share with my inner circle,” she told subscribers at the time. “It’s an early Valentine’s Day present from Ben. Watching it made me think about the journey of true love, its unexpected twists and turns, and that when it’s real, it actually can last forever.”
