One of the more exciting beauty launches for the year is courtesy of Dries Van Noten, with the Belgian designer’s beauty brand available for the first time in the Middle East from next month. The fragrance, lipstick, and grooming accessories collection will launch in the Middle East on December 10th, 2022, exclusively at Harvey Nichols Kuwait, with plans to expand into other locations in 2023.
“Launching my beauty line has been such an experience, a dream come true. It gave me the opportunity to translate my vision of fashion into the world of beauty and make-up,” explains Van Notens. “I’m really excited for this next chapter in the Middle East, and in Kuwait in particular, to see how perfumes will be welcomed in a region with such a big love for scent.”
Spanning 30 shades, from rich reds, to subtle nudes, and a pastel lilac, the rosehip oil-infused lipstick formula comes in matte, satin, and sheer formulas, plus a nurturing lip balm. The refillable lipstick cases were designed in four different eye-catching and deliberately clashing prints and pop colors.
The perfume collection includes 10 eaux de parfums, each created by a different master perfumer. Stand-out fragrances include Santal Greenery, a natural sandalwood combined with sharply green fig leaf, and Rock The Myrrh, a resinous myrrh, benzoin, and pink pepper composition. Each scent is matched to its own flacon style, with the refillable bottles acting as collectible art pieces.
Known for his statement-making fabrics and textures, Van Noten has continued this signature style over to the house’s beauty collection. Fragrance bottles and lipstick cases are adorned in statement-making patterns, with matching accessories including combs and makeup bags. The designer says that sustainability was a large focus for his first beauty launch. Each eco-friendly item was designed to last as an object of desire, and made with responsibly-sourced aluminum and glass, and PEFC-certified wood.
