The five-year-old royal rode in a horse-drawn carriage from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade to celebrate the monarch’s annual birthday parade alongside his elder brother, nine-year-old Prince George, and sister, eight-year-old Princess Charlotte. The young princes were dressed in suits with matching red ties, which coordinated well with Charlotte’s nautical white collared dress with a red bow and accents.
The Wales children were sat across from Queen Camilla and their mother, Kate Middleton, who wore a shamrock green suit by designer Andrew GN with a Philip Treacy hat. According to People, the kids’ red accessories coupled with their mother’s green suit represent the colors of the Welsh flag. Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales’ green garb and Cartier brooch are additional nods to her role as colonel of the Irish guards.

At some point during their ride, it appears Prince Louis got a whiff of something off-putting, kicking off his multiple meme-able moments from the annual celebration.

Remember when Prince Louis went crazy for the planes zooming over the Buckingham Palace balcony during last year’s Trooping the Color ceremony? He was no less enamored by this year’s showing from the Royal Navy, the British Army, and the Royal Air Force. While the noise from the planes appeared to overwhelm the young prince, Louis also showed his appreciation for the show with a double fist pump and a proper salute.

Prince Louis has become famous for his silly antics at various royal events, particularly the 2022 Platinum Jubilee, where he had a particularly good time pulling faces at his mother. At the time, Kate Middleton looked at her son with the same fond expressions as she did today. Clearly, she’s just as entertained as the rest of us.
