With Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee nearing, the first royal event that will set the tone for the rest of the celebrations is Trooping the Color, which is the monarch’s birthday parade held this year on June 2. This time, the event held at the Horse Guards Palace in London will feature 1,500 soldiers and 350 horses for the first time since the pandemic.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with son Archie and their 11-month-old daughter Lilibet Diana will be flying in from California to attend the four-day festivities starting with Trooping the Color, however, not alongside the Queen this time. The couple will watch on with other members of the royal family half a mile away from the Buckingham Palace from the Duke of Wellington’s former office as the Queen decided to reduce the balcony lineup to only the working members of the royal family.

After a two-year long period, Harry and Meghan will be meeting members of the royal family, including the Duke of Cambridge, Duchess of Cambridge, and Duchess of Cornwall among many others who will be present for the weeklong celebration. The couple is also expected to attend the National Service of Thanksgiving honoring the sovereign of England at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday.

The parade will be viewed by a billion people worldwide with more than 10,000 individuals involved in the procession. The military display will feature Ed Sheeran singing the national anthem, a giant 3D wire bust of the Queen, puppet corgis, an homage to seven decades of fashion, music, and culture along with the Gold State Coach that will grace the streets of London for the first time in 20 years.
