Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a generous US $5,000 (AED 18,365) donation in the name of their children, Archie and Lilibeth, to a grieving family who suddenly lost their nine-year-old boy. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made this selfless donation through a joint account and donated it directly to the fundraiser GoFundme, which was set up for the Zajfen family.

Based in Los Angeles, the family has been in shambles over the loss of their son with the mother, Kelly McKee Zajfen resorting to Instagram to let out her sorrow. The 42-year-old mother announced the tragic death of her son via her Instagram on Friday. The former model wrote: “My sweet baby boy. My world is shattered into a million pieces. I have little ability to breathe. Walk. Function. Sit. Stand. You left this Earth and left behind so many people who loved you. I don’t know how I’m able to go on. How I can function. How I can be the light and have joy ever again but I’m going to try. Try hard for your beautiful twin sister.”

While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s connection to the Zajfen family still stands unclear, Markle’s ex-husband, Trever Engelson alongside his wife, Tracy Kurland were also found to make a $1,000 donation to the family. This could either mean an old friendship between the families or an acquaintance. The GoFundMe page was launched by a friend of the Zajfen family, Kate Jefferson. She was hoping to serve the ulterior purpose of raising funds for the Zajfen family so that they can grieve the loss of their boy at ease.
