Balqees Fathi’s Album Transformation is On-Point

Yemeni-Emirati singer Balqees Fathi has gone blonde for the first time ever on the cover of her latest album, “Arahemkom”, which translates to “I Bet You” in English. The singer and now Nike poster girl released a series of images on her Instagram promoting the details of her highly-anticipated new album. Balqees tells Vogue Arabia that she is known for having high-octane album covers and for this one, the unexpected move was to go blonde.

Flaunting her new hairdo, the singer sports a pair of boxing gloves featuring the word “Becky” – a nickname her husband calls her. This is Fathi’s third album, and she calls it her “third baby.” The album represents the Arab world, as well as her personality.

Earlier this year, Fathi took part in a Nike campaign film with four other women from the Middle East who all addressed the challenges they face. The women represent not only themselves, but their countries too, as they shine light on what it means to be a Nike Woman in the Middle East.
