Congratulations are in order for Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik, as they have welcomed their first child together. The couple announced the arrival of their daughter, who was born over the weekend, on their respective social media channels.
British-Pakistani singer Malik first posted on Twitter on Wednesday evening to confirm their “baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful”, in a post where he went on to describe his love for his daughter as “beyond” his understanding.

More recently Palestinian-American model Hadid took to Instagram to explain how her daughter has “already changed our worlds.”
Both Hadid and Malik’s announcements were accompanied by a black and white image of their daughter’s delicate hands wrapped around each of their fingers. News of their daughter’s arrival comes a week after Hadid’s father Mohamed Hadid shared an emotional post of a poem on which he had penned, dedicated to his grandchild. “Hello little grandchild, it is me, my heart as happy as can be. I wish for you the sun and moon, I wish for you a happy time,” the poem read. “Know that grandpa’s always here, I’ll do anything, anything for you, my dear. When I heard you were on the way, I smiled and wiped a tear away. I cried the tear because I knew my heart would always belong to you.” Mohammed’s post, which he shared on Instagram, sparked the speculations that Gigi had already given birth. However, before swiftly deleting the post, Mohammed replied to a fan’s comment stating that Gigi had “not yet” given birth.
Earlier this week Gigi’s mother Yolanda also shared a touching tribute to her daughter, with an Instagram post featuring a photo herself hugging Gigi’s belly, commenting they were “waiting patiently for her angel to be born…”.
Gigi’s sister Bella also professed her love for her impending niece in another Instagram post last week, dedicated to Gigi and Zayn. Sharing a photo of herself and sister, Gigi cradling their stomachs, Bella wrote, “two buns in the oven except mine is from my burger and Gigi’s is from @zayn, I love you both so freaking much -can’t stop crying.”
Hadid and Malik have been together, off-and-on, since 2015 and announced they were expecting when Hadid confirmed news of her pregnancy during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in April. Speaking of her pregnancy, which she experienced in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Hadid stated, “Especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and together and really experience it.” Although the model has kept relatively quiet throughout the journey of her pregnancy, she has released several stunning images from her magical maternity shoot in July, noting she was “growing and angel.”
