2022 is a time that will bring big love to everyone – after we get through the first two months of the year. Then, we can look forward to shifts and changes that open us up to radical self-love and care, as well as our hearts to others.

There will be a few bumps in the road (after all, there are four Mercury retrogrades), but overall the year brings good vibes… something we all could use.

Venus retrograde

2022 starts off mid Venus retrograde. The planet of love and money started its backspin on December 19, 2021 and will continue to moonwalk until January 29, 2022, in Capricorn.

Being that Venus naturally moves in the opposite rotation to Earth, this planetary slowdown will make us all super reflective in matters of the heart and money. This will add exhaustion, feelings of love sickness, low confidence, and financial burdens as we enter 2022.

Keep in mind that it’s not all doom and gloom during Venus retrograde. There could be a recommitment between two parties and a chance to get deeper. It will take work, but as long as everyone wants to invest the time and energy to make the partnership work, then emotions will soar. Also, keep receipts for gifts in case the holiday presents we get for others aren’t received well.

Venus star points

Venus star points happen when the sun and Venus align in the sky and form a five pointed star. This is a mystical energy that heightens our emotions and desires, urging us to create more efficient and supportive relationships with others. There are two in 2022.

The first Venus star point of 2022 occurs on January 8 in Capricorn, during Venus retrograde. This is a wonderful time to lean into romance and to partake in a self-care activity, such as massage or meditation. It’s a social time, which means that the New Year’s celebrations may go on for a few days after 1 January.

The second Venus star point of 2022 occurs on October 22 in Libra, during the fall equinox. This Venus star point occurs at the sensitive degree of 29 Libra, which is called an anaretic degree. It’s also in the via combusta degrees of Libra (the degrees of 15 Libra to 15 Scorpio, except for 22 degrees Libra, are often referred to as “the burning way”). Emotions are intense, as are our passions. We’ll want to rush through matters, and commit without thinking about who or what we are giving our hearts to.

Venus and mars conjunctions

Tender Venus and action-oriented Mars link up twice in 2022. When Earth’s two closest planets connect in the same sign, romantic and financial sparks fly. We want to level up our partnerships, go out on dates, make plans to socialize with friends, and take charge of our assets. Plus, our confidence is peaking.

The first occurrence is in Capricorn on February 12. The more powerful planet in this combination is Mars, because it’s exalted in Capricorn, which makes it powerful. We will want to make decisions about the future of partnerships and financial planning. Where do we see ourselves growing and evolving? Is the person we’re with “the one”? What’s the most lucrative way to invest money? All of these questions will be answered during this decisive time.

The second Venus and Mars connection occurs on March 12 in the air sign Aquarius. This time around, we will be going with the flow. Decisions and commitments have been made, which is why this cosmic alliance is a moment of calm and appreciation for what we’ve achieved in the romantic and financial sector of our lives.

Mercury retrograde

Mercury will be retrograde four times in 2022. This means that communication breakdowns, travel issues, and technological issues will happen more than usual. Be cognizant of what is being said, to ensure that the right sentiments are being articulated. And, back-up information on computers or electronic devices.

January 14 to February 3 marks the first retrograde in Aquarius and Capricorn. Because this planetary backspin starts in the middle of Venus retrograde, exes may come back, or we may have temporary anxiety about love or money.

The second retrograde occurs from May 10 to June 3 in Gemini and Taurus. Moving into the present will be hard to do then, as we are afraid to change our ways of thinking and experience newness. Be flexible with the processing of information.

The third retrograde occurs from September 9 to October 2 in Libra and moves backwards into Virgo. We will learn how to relate to others with clear and concise communication, which will be an effect of the retrograde.

The fourth and last Mercurial spin will occur from December 29 to January 18, 2023 in Capricorn. We will feel as though there isn’t enough time to take care of everything we have to accomplish, which means we have to reorganize our time.

Jupiter and Neptune connection

Lucky Jupiter and dreamy Neptune collide in Pisces on April 12. This is a big day for love. We are moving to a new romantic vision that will transcend time and open our hearts up to unconditional love.

The planet of expansion, Jupiter, starts off the year in lovely Pisces. It enters Aries on May 10 and stays there until October 28. This transit will make us a little selfish, but allow us to attain our goals. Jupiter re-enters Pisces from October 28 to December 20, which will be a time of mysticism and compassion. Then, Jupiter moves back into Aries from December 20 until May 16, 2023.

Nodal shift

The Nodes of Destiny change signs every year and a half. This dictates the energy that is being brought towards us, as it sets the cosmic tone and eclipses that occur. It shows what we are fated to learn, experience, and feel in the time it’s in each polarity.

The Nodes of Destiny shift into the Taurus-Scorpio axis on January 18 (they will stay on these signs for the next year and a half), allowing us to break down the walls that stand between us and others.

The North Node will be in Taurus, which states what we are pulling in. The time to merge into partnerships is now. Embrace pleasure and be indulgent. Also, creativity will soar. Let go of the past and be at peace with the present.

The South Node is in Scorpio, which asks us to release the need to use money, or manipulative tactics to get our way. We are focusing on materialism and what we can build on a tangible level.

Uranus and the North Node align

Revolutionary planet Uranus and the North Node of Destiny link up on July 31. This will be a radical shift in the economy, politics, how we source food, and the environment. It’s also when the world moves towards the future.

The eclipses of 2022

There are four eclipses in 2022. Eclipses are markers of time, as they bring matters to light and reveal things that we haven’t seen before. They require immediate action after they occur, making them indicators of important events. Solar eclipses are similar to potent new moons, while lunar eclipses are like intense full moons.

A solar eclipse occurs on April 30 in Taurus. This eclipse asks us to foster relationships, live the glamorous life, rest our bones, and use our creative talents to build greatness.

The lunar eclipse in Scorpio on May 16 brings on miscommunications, which is why it’s essential for us all to be direct with our feelings and sentiments.

October 25 brings the solar eclipse in Scorpio, which will urge us to change, transform, and evolve. This is the moment of growth that we’ve been waiting for.

The lunar eclipse in Taurus on November 8 pushes us to put our egos aside and to commit to who, what, and anything we love — no matter the cost.

Mars retrograde

Mars retrograde occurs every two years. This fiery planet represents our drive, energy, passion, and the way we assert ourselves. When retrograde, the vibe will exhaust us, and make us more passive than usual.

The retrograde commences in Gemini on October 30 and ends on January 12, 2023. Being that Mars retrograde is in Gemini, we won’t be using our words properly and opt to be less responsive to matters. Anxieties will be up and down, but we will be able to thrive if we choose our battles and the projects we take on wisely.
