She is a filmmaker
Biirdperson shares a long history with the creative industry. Before music, she worked behind the scenes, curating art through her cinematography. The savant has worked on several projects including Cherry (2021) an original Apple TV film, AlAsha, a short Netflix film, Ureem 2, and more.
Her musical journey started due to her friends
Biirdperson learned the nitty-gritty of music by filming her DJ friends at parties, and slowly but surely learning the basics of her craft through observation.
Covid-19 helped her realign with her true purpose
The 2020 lockdown caused Lujain Albishi to take an involuntary break from her film-making career, but also gave her more time to focus on music. During this period, the artist was able to truly experiment with different genres and cultivate her own style, which was heavily inspired by electronic music.
She is takes inspiration from fellow Saudi musicians
Albishi has mentioned her fellow Saudi musicians — namely Vinyl Mode, Cosmicat, Hats and Klaps, and Majid — have played an imperative role in encouraging her to share her craft with the world, along with her heritage.
