With two sources of inspiration – the Amazonian goddess and romantic-era nymph – Zuhair Murad‘s Spring 2018 collection was destined to be an evocative line-up of gowns, glamorous trousers suits, and dazzling jumpsuit (the designer’s signature).
“I’ve been looking to do something new,” he told US Vogue backstage. “There’s something mysterious and untouchable about my woman that I find very elegant. She’s like a fantasy. But it needs to work, too. You need to fit many kinds of women. She’s neither classical nor futuristic – she is a real woman.” True to his word, Murad‘s loyal clientele will find this new-season offering easy to apply to their wardrobes. While the vast majority of the collection leans towards the red carpet, high society events, or occasions that call for an elevated dress code, the leather jackets with leafy detailing and crisp two-piece trouser suits are primed for everyday style.
Murad didn’t show his entire high summer offering at Paris Fashion Week; more designs will feature in stores throughout next year.
