Zuhair Murad Dresses 5 Angels for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Afterparty

Shortly after hitting the runway of the whirlwind 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show pre-taped in New York City over the weekend, Angels quickly changed from their plaid, celestial, and Mary Katrantzou-designed underpinnings into dazzling evening gowns for the event’s annual afterparty. Runway veterans and newbies struck a pose on the pink carpet, showing off their bombshell physiques in tight, sequin-filled ensembles from the collections of Versace, Julien Macdonald, and Dundas. But Zuhair Murad was the clear winner when it came to dressing the VS models — no surprise considering the red carpets all over the world he’s conquered. The Lebanese couturier was responsible for dreaming up not one, but five, of the dazzling creations sported by the Angels.

Among the models donning couture creations by the Beirut-born designer was Brazilian beauty Lais Ribeiro, who traded in her wings for a black, heavily embellished mini dress that featured long sleeves and fringe detailing. Meanwhile, Dutch model Romee Strijd, who stole the spotlight in a traffic-stopping, 27-pound, custom Swarovski-designed look on the runway, continued to turn heads off the catwalk wearing a sequined, fringed, form-fitting gown cinched at the waist with a thin, nude belt. British model Megan Williams, who made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut last year, posed for pictures in a sparkling design plucked from the Paris-based label’s Ready-to-Wear Resort 2018 collection, while Nadine Leopold stepped out in a metallic, beaded, shoulder-baring design. But perhaps, our favorite look of the evening was Josephine Skriver’s — the Victoria’s Secret Angel looked heavenly wearing a plunging, sheer gown with jewel-like detailing that was simply divine.
