With only a few hours to go for the 2024 Met Gala, co-chairs Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez are gearing up for fashion’s biggest night in their own spectacular ways.

The countdown to the 2024 Met Gala is on, and anticipation is at an all-time high to see what co-chairs Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez, in particular, will be wearing to the biggest night in fashion. Ahead of the first Monday in May, the two stars were spotted in New York City, in attendance at the Pre-Met Gala dinner hosted by Vogue Global Editorial Director Anna Wintour. The gathering saw Zendaya and Lopez offer their respective takes on evening-wear, which, compared to their upcoming Met Gala looks, were pared-back and minimalistic—the sartorial calm before the storm, if you will.

Fresh off the press tour for Challengers with her tennis court-themed wardrobe, Zendaya stepped out in a sleeveless white midi dress picked from the archives of John Galliano’s Fall 1998 collection. The form-flattering lace number came with a sheer detail at the top and the back, adorned with pink florals and butterfly embroidery. Considering her longtime collaborator and stylist Law Roach’s ability to nail the theme of any experience Zendaya is a part of, the look may be a nod to her outfit for the Met Gala and its dress code ‘Garden of Time’. The actor finished off the look with her trusty white Christian Louboutin pumps, and a makeup look that complemented the dress with hues of pink.

As for Lopez, who recently made a massive comeback with a new album and film, the popstar looked to classic Hollywood glamour for the dinner. The singer opted for a black strapless velvet gown by Diana Qerimi, which came dotted with crystal droplets. Lopez’s stylist duo Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn paired the dress with the star’s signature platform pumps in black by Casadei, a matching Tyler Ellis clutch, and diamond earrings by Yeprem.
Zendaya and Lopez were also joined by fellow co-chairs Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth at the star-studded evening. The stars are four of many who will be making an appearance at tomorrow’s Met Gala, which celebrates the 2024 Costume Institute exhibition’s theme titled Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.
