If there was ever any doubt in Zendaya‘s ability to pull off a suit, her latest outfit has quashed them. It is one thing to nail your appearance at an event after trying out your look beforehand, and another to go through a last-minute fashion emergency and still turn heads for all the right reasons. And it seems the Dune star has mastered just that, as she attended the launch of the Bulgari Hotel in Rome in an ensemble that was not her first choice, but with help from longtime stylist Law Roach, she looked just as glamorous as ever.
After posing for photos at the event wearing a black suit, the actor took to Instagram to share that her originally planned outfit for the evening was a dress that had, in fact, been lost in transit. “We got this suit an hour before the event,” she wrote. The suit in question? A dazzling three-piece couture number from Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2023-24 collection. It featured a sleeveless sequined mesh top paired with an oversized sparkling blazer and matching wide-legged trousers. “When in doubt… a @maisonvalentino suit :)” added Zendaya, crediting Roach for the perfect find. She completed her look black pointed-toe pumps and chunky silver rings.

The 26-year-old’s love affair with suits is a long one with a number of noteworthy looks that have helped her cement her status as one of the biggest style stars of her generation. While Zendaya has made headlines for ultra-feminine and femme fatale-esque gowns, she has also aced the art of the tailored, power suit in a range of styles. These include a minimalistic, gray Fear of God creation, a hot pink Valentino one with floral appliques, and a waist-cinching Sportmax number. Although this Valentino couture piece was a pick of the eleventh hour, it fits right in with Zendaya’s ever-growing repertoire of suits.
