Youssra is no stranger to red carpets. Over the years, the Egyptian icon has attended more festivals and awards ceremonies than one can count, and each outing sees her make a statement in an all-eyes-on-me ensemble, be it a traffic-stopping red gown, a gold jumpsuit, or a vibrant kaftan.

After recently making an appearance in a sharp pantsuit by Tony Ward, Youssra found herself coming back to the Lebanese couturier’s designs for her first outing at Cannes Film Festival 2024. However, this time, the actor went with a look that was all about femininity and romance. Last evening, Youssra walked down the French Riviera surrounded by flashing cameras dressed in an ivory gown that wouldn’t have looked out of place at a ball.

Featuring a high neck, balloon sleeves, and A-line silhouette, the dress stood out not just for its flattering modest cut, but also for the embellishment that accentuated it — chunky rhinestones highlighted the neckline of the gown, while thoughtfully placed silver and gold sequins all over the outfit created the illusion of a shower of shooting stars. To complete her look, the actor added on a pair of diamond drop earrings by Cartier, along with a selection of sparkling rings.

With her princess-worthy Tony Ward couture gown, Youssra chose to go with a classic beauty look. Perfectly flipped gold locks complemented her less-is-more makeup for the occasion, and a burgundy manicure added a subtle pop of color to the elegant ensemble.

If modest cuts and soothing hues are staples in your wardrobe, a classic number like Youssra’s Cannes gown makes the ideal choice for special occasions, like a wedding in the family. Below, find three gowns similar to the star’s that you can consider investing in.
