Are you a Hollywood stylist in panic mode? Put a call into Marc Jacobs, pronto. The designer may well be promoting the reissue of his spring 1993 grunge collection for Perry Ellis, but on the spring/summer 2019 catwalk it was a different story: cue an explosion of bombastic bows, screen siren feathers, tulle, corsages and ruffles that couldn’t have been further from the off-duty maxi dresses and T-shirts in that reissue.
Still, if there’s a time and a place for silver screen romance, it’s Christmas, and Jacobs’ outré catwalk designs are proving catnip for celebrities looking to pack a visual punch on the red carpet this December. The only question now is: Who wore it best?
