The fashion industry has seen unprecedented changes since the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic. With entire fashion weeks postponed and canceled, the fashion calendar is no longer what it has been for years now and is affecting designers and their creativity. One such designer to be impacted by this is Murad, who will no longer be showcasing his next couture collection.
Having started sketching since the age of ten, Murad went on to open his first atelier in Beirut in 1997. “I don’t recall a day in my life without a pen in my hand!” he once said. Only four years later, the designer was ready to present his first-ever haute couture collection Paris, and the rest is history. During the live conversation today, go back in time with the editor and designer as Murad shares his earliest memories of fashion, and his career path to being the successful designer he is today, having his stunning creations worn by A-list celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Ciara.
