At Vogue Arabia’s Second Anniversary Celebration, Guests Sparkled in Arab Designers

Last night, Vogue Arabia celebrated its 2nd anniversary with all the glitz and glamour of an exclusive, star-studded party. Hosted by Editor-in-Chief Manuel Arnaut, the region’s top designers, social elite, and the fashion industry joined us at the nightlife venue Sky 2.0 in Dubai Design District.

To honor our long-term initiative #BuyArabDesigners, dedicated to supporting homegrown talent, the dress code for the night was “Sparkle in Arab Designers.” Catching everyone’s attention, Amel Bouchoucha wore an embellished mini-dress by Zuhair Murad and Karen Wazen chose a silver headpiece to match her sequined dress by Nicolas Jebran. Dressed head-to-toe in Lebanese couture creations, Raya Abirached stunned in a white gown by Georges Hobeika, which she paired with a clutch by Sarah’s Bag, Poise Design shoes, and VMar Jewelry — the contemporary jewelry brand adorning select VIP guests to add to the sparkle of the evening. Also making an appearance were actors Salma Abu Deif and Dhafer Labidine, Emirati director Ali Mostafa, Amani Esseibi, designers Rami Al Ali, Hatem Alakeel, and Arwa Al Banawi, along with Lana El Sahely, Nadine, Farah and Alice Abdel Aziz, Rania Fawaz, Dima Al Sheikhly, Zeina Barhoum, and more.

Inside, the party took off with an electrifying set by Karrouhat, and later, world-famous Bob Sinclar’s beats had the guests dancing all night long. Editor-in-Chief Manuel Arnaut set the tone with a special video on our #BuyArabDesigners initiative featuring some of the region’s most prominent personalities: Amina Khalil, Shereen Reda, Yousra, Amr Youssef, Nicolas Mouawad, Asser Yassin, Yosra El Lozy, Lama Jouni, Arwa Al Banawi, Maral Melhem of VMar Jewelry, Karen and Andrea Wazen, Diala Makki, Latifa Al Gurg, and Ameni Esseibi.

Speaking about this initiative, Arnaut said, “In only two years we’ve had the privilege to work in a brand that generates headlines around the world, offering a beautiful window to the best of Arabia. This year we wanted our anniversary to be extra meaningful through the campaign #BuyArabDesigners. Arab designers and regional fashion are at the core of everything we do at Vogue Arabia, and I could not be more pleased with the meteoric impact of this initiative.”

The anniversary party was produced in partnership with Samsung who added a touch of innovation and the next level of technology to the celebration. Speaking about this association, Tarek Sabbagh, Head of IT & Mobile (IM) Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, said, “I’m so happy with this partnership with Vogue. I believe that by combining our efforts we managed to give fashion a 3rd side which is the technology you need to match and complement your look.”

In the last two years, Vogue Arabia has successfully positioned itself as the most authoritative and read fashion title of the region and one of the most widely discussed luxury publications in the world. With strong editorial and impactful stories, the bi-lingual edition presents the true face of the region. Speaking of the success Vogue Arabia has achieved, Publisher & CEO Shashi Menon thanked the entire team and said, “What a whirlwind the last couple of years have been: two years of groundbreaking covers and storytelling which has turned Vogue Arabia into a truly global force.”
