One of Europe’s most loved brands, Mango never fails to surprise and delight style enthusiasts. The latest in its list of exciting new offerings is a spring/summer capsule collection that brings in one of the fashion world’s most-loved names: Victoria Beckham.

Beckham, whose eponymous label has become synonymous with wearable, yet cutting-edge creations, has long been a household name thanks to her eye for immaculate cuts, sharp styling, and playful use of color. So it comes as no surprise, then, that Victoria Beckham’s collaborative line with Mango will be nothing less than spectacular. After all, the brand has been on her radar for years as well. “I was of course inspired by luxury fashion,” Beckham says about her pre-stardom days in an interview, “But couldn’t afford them, so I always turned to the high street brands growing up – including Mango.” Now, as a designer, her goal remains constant season after season: “I have always wanted to help women feel like the best version of [themselves], because when you feel like the best version of yourself, you can take on anything!”

Blending Beckham’s penchant for fashion-forward elements, and Mango’s love for sleek contemporary aesthetics, the new capsule collection serves as a celebration of the duo’s shared values of style, quality and femininity. Inspired by the 1969 movie La Piscine starring Jane Birkin, the Victoria Beckham x Mango collection takes cues from ‘70s style to give shoppers a series of must-haves that can easily help build a versatile day-to-night wardrobe. Comprising delicate lingerie dresses, knitwear and smart staples, the collection relies on natural fabrics such as linen, cotton and silk for its high-quality finishing. In the accessories department, mix-and-match metal link chains, strappy sandals in neutral hues, and chic bucket bags battle for the spotlight — all unique, yet so easy to style.

Beautifully tailored separates, from sharp shouldered blazers to body-skimming trousers, give a nod to Victoria Beckham’s signature style. As for the palette? Nothing but the best would do for this collab: think elegant whites, ecru and butter, with hints of blue, peach, and mauve — and of course, black for some delicious contrast.

Bringing the personality of the capsule collection to life are models Anok Yai and Freya Nutter, who give the world a first look at Mango and Victoria Beckham’s labor of love via a series of beautiful visuals shot by David Sims and styled by Emmanuelle Alt. Launching just in time for Mango’s 40th anniversary, this is a collection worth bookmarking.

Below, Victoria Beckham answers a few questions about the capsule, and life beyond fashion.

Can you describe the Victoria Beckham x Mango collection in three words?
Sensual, considered, and feminine.

How did you and your team approach the collaboration between both brands?  What part of the process did you enjoy the most?
I really wanted to speak to a wider audience in a way that feels relevant to my brand and retains my aesthetic and DNA, and I am very proud of what we have created together. It feels very modern to bring the two brands together and build on our expertise, and I was very impressed by the Mango teams’ level of execution, attention to detail and savoir-faire.

It was an exciting challenge to embrace another creative process without compromising on the creative and desirability. I also feel that we have a shared ethos, aesthetic and values around femininity, quality and a real love of product.

How do you envision the VBxMango woman? What are her traits and personality?
The woman is multi-faceted. It’s not about being any one type of woman but for me it’s really about wanting whoever wears my collections to feel empowered and like the best version of themselves.

Which pieces do you consider that are the most representative of this collection? Which ones are your personal favorites?
I really love the easy slip dresses and the tailoring in particular. I have always played with both the feminine and masculine and want to offer an effortless women’s wardrobe that is versatile and wearable yet rooted in modernity with a sophisticated ease. Something might appear simple but so much thought and execution has gone into how that piece fits or sits on the body, the way it creates a strong silhouette – It’s always about silhouette for me.

When was the moment you decided to start your fashion career?
It was about creating what I desired and that first collection, in 2008, was a very considered collection of dresses that really focused on silhouette. Whilst my style has evolved, and I have learned so much along the way. At the core it has always been about silhouette for me. I’m so passionate about what I do and I enjoy the process every step of the way – I live and breathe my brand. I work with a genuinely amazing group of people across fashion and beauty, and I feel very accomplished and proud of where we are today.

You and David have consistently stayed on top, as one of the most iconic power couples for decades. What’s your secret?
Family is everything to me. I love what I do and I’m so passionate about it, and I’m very grateful that my family is there supporting me every step of the way. David is a very kind person, such an amazing father and husband and we just really laugh and have a great time together at the end of the day.

What things do you think people assume about you that are not true?
That I don’t smile! The truth is I take what I do very seriously but not myself, I like to have a laugh!
