Gigi Hadid adds “photographer” to her resume. The multi-hyphenate model––who graced the March cover of Vogue Arabia’s monumental first issue––was tapped by Donatella Versace to shoot the latest Versus Versace Spring 2017 campaign. Fronting the lens is model of the moment Adwoa Aboah, who joins Hadid’s boyfriend Zayn Malik in sizzling images that were captured at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old rockstar, who was named creative director of the brand and is set to release his first capsule collection with the label in June, teased a behind-the-scenes video of the campaign on Instagram earlier this week, before sharing the final images.
The edgy Versace family sister brand has an electrifying history linked to the music world, in which the Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, and the late Prince have all performed live during past runway shows. The front row is no different: Ellie Goulding, will.i.am, and M.I.A. were among the musicians who watched the Fall 2017 presentation from the front row during London Fashion Week.
Donatella Versace has her eyes set on capturing the attention of millennials with the brand’s modern aesthetic and fresh-faced muses. “The Versus [Spring 2017] campaign captures everything that is special about Zayn, Gigi and Adwoa,” the designer revealed in a statement. “They are young people who define the mood of their generation with their honesty, energy, and their love.”
