On Monday night, actors, models, and celebrities gathered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood for the premiere of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The science-fiction film was directed by Luc Besson and stars Cara Delevingne as a space and time-traveling agent who works with her partner and love interest, Valerian (Dane DeHaan), to protect the universe from an unknown threat. Naturally, the A-listers in attendance, including Kendall Jenner, Sasha Luss, and Rihanna (who co-stars in the film) brought their A-game to the screening’s black carpet.
For the occasion, leading lady Delevingne channeled her character by wearing a sheer, futuristic wire-twisted gown fresh from Iris van Herpen’s Fall 2017 Couture collection, which she elevated with Old Hollywood finger waves. Meanwhile, her co-star Rihanna, who plays a shape-shifting alien named Bubbles, opted for a pink, off-the-shoulder custom Giambattista Valli Couture creation with a cinched waistline and billowing sleeves. The look was accessorized with a pair of Manolo Blahnik sandals that criss-crossed up her glowing, mile-long legs.
Other celebrities in attendance included Kendall Jenner, who wore a black strapless mini dress, Cindy Bruna in a long, silk slip, and Poppy Delevingne, who opted for a belted, embellished jumpsuit (signed Zuhair Murad) – proving that when it comes to haute couture, black is the new black.
