Spring 2018 can’t come soon enough. But with the see-now-buy-now movement at Tommy Hilfiger fully installed for a few seasons, you won’t have to wait beyond February 25th to click the new drop of TommyXGigi collection into your digital shopping basket. Cue: credit card out.
This is the fourth time the American designer and international supermodel and Vogue Arabia debut cover girl have co-signed a collection. While you can preview the collection here on Vogue.me, it will be officially presented at Milan Fashion Week, closing the week in the Italian fashion capital on February 25th. Naturally, the collection will land in stores straight away across the globe once the show completes. The range of swimwear, footwear, ready-to-wear, and footwear will be available as the last sneaker leaves the runway in a bid to spark instant sales from its loyalist customer base who want a piece of Hadid’s inimitable off-duty style.
“Every capsule collection that Tommy and I have designed together mixes my personal style with the brand’s Americana heritage,” Hadid said in a statement. “The Spring 2018 designs are completely different from anything else we have created, and I can’t wait to see fans around the world put their unique twist on each look.” The new look is themed to ‘speed and racing’, so expect a fast-track to urban threads, monochromatic key pieces, luxe gold zipper detailing, sporty piping tracing the edges of relaxed pants, and a juxtaposition of silhouettes, oscillating between skinny-fit and oversized.
“Collaborating with Gigi has been an amazing journey, and we’re thrilled to present our collection, designed with the next generation of fashion-forward “Tommy Girls” in mind,” Hilfiger declared. Clearly this is a co-design synergy with staying power. Next up? The show. Check #TommyXGigi for the social media fireworks come February 25th.
