Zuhair Murad is the King of the 2018 Cannes Red Carpet

Last night’s closing ceremony that took place on the French Riviera marked the end of this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The 71st edition of the cinematic event saw the prestigious Palm D’Or awarded to Shoplifters by Japanese film director Hirokazu Kore-eda, meanwhile Lebanese director Nadine Labaki was the recipient of the Jury Prize for her politically-charged fable Capernaum. However, the action wasn’t strictly reserved inside the screenings. This year’s red carpet provided a number of memorable fashion moments powered by both international and regional designers. Some of Hollywood’s most beautiful faces posed for photographers wearing designs by Middle Eastern talent that included Nicolas Jebran, Ashi Studio, and Elie Saab. Certainly, Georges Hobeika left a solid mark on the red carpet, with his figure-flattering designs being donned by celebrities and models such as Jessica Kahawaty, Diala Makki, and Nicole Scherzinger to name a few. Up-and-comer Jean-Louis Sabaji also had a winning streak in Cannes, dressing Natalia Vodianova and Daria Strokous.

But the undisputed king of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival red carpet is none other than Zuhair Murad. The Lebanese couturier had a solid presence on the South of France with his dreamy couture creations that were worn by some of Hollywoods biggest names. Highlights include the white, plunging, caped gown sported by Deepika Padukone. Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio demanded a double-take at the Wild Pear Tree premiere wearing a champagne, long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder gown by the Lebanese couturier.  Meanwhile, Izabel Goulart‘s gilded, floor-trailing couture number won’t soon be forgotten. The annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala marked the climax of the ten-day film festival, and saw Winnie Harlow and Heidi Klum arrive wearing Murad’s sequin-laden designs.

Ahead, see all of the Zuhair Murad gowns that stole the show at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
