Launching today is a special capsule collection curated by Carine Roitfeld, style advisor of Karl Lagerfeld‘s namesake brand. A long-time friend of the German couturier, Roitfeld’s collaboration with Lagerfeld was first announced in January this year and later, following the death of the designer, Roitfeld took on the role of the brand’s style advisor for the next three seasons.

The collection titled “The Edit By Carine Roitfeld”, features her essential styles from Karl Lagerfeld’s Fall 2019 collection for sophisticated, everyday dressing and effortless travel. With functionality in mind and a critical eye, Roitfeld’s selected pieces boast versatility and are also easy to pack. The collection is bound to find fans in jet-setters who prefer to travel in style and are always on the go.

The Edit is made up of 18 styles of ready-to-wear and accessories with each one holding the potential to form a cohesive outfit when combined with another. The color palette of black and white with hints of silver is a reflection of Roitfeld’s own wardrobe.

“My idea for The Edit was to pick styles that can easily fit into a trolley; when you travel as frequently as I do, the less you want to bring with you,” explains Roitfeld in a statement. “There’s everything you need for a week away: a day look, an evening look, shoes, and great coats. Everything can be mixed-and-matched into chic, elegant combinations.”

Roitfeld’s picks for everyday wear are black satin jogger pants with eyelets on the sides, girlfriend fit jeans with a stripe logo print and a metallic merino wool-blend logo sweater. A crepe jersey dress, a sparkling silver turtleneck with an open V on the back, and a striking leopard print jacquard blouse have been selected for dressier occasions. For outerwear, the collection features a menswear-inspired check coat, a cotton twill trench coat, and a hooded faux fur jacket with an allover logo stripe.

If you are not a fan of opening your suitcase to find your clothes wrinkled, opt for the black punto blazer, accompanied by a matching miniskirt and cropped trousers, as their fabrics are wrinkle-resistant.

Roitfeld also suggests her favorite bags to complement your travel ensembles — the Rue St-Guillaume suitcase and weekender, with the new K/Ikonik handbag silhouette.
