Tassel Earrings are Back on Our Shopping List Thanks to Maya Diab

There’s a freestyle, anything goes approach to wearing opulent accessories during the daytime thanks to a host of A-listers (Beyoncé, Rihanna, Maya Diab, Rotana) and street style mavens (Gilda Ambrosio, The Urban Analyst, Mrs Keepa). Alessandro Michele at Gucci and Domenico and Stefano of Dolce & Gabbana are long-standing champions of the more-is-more sartorial approach. So why should the beach be any different to the streets of Beirut, Muscat, London, or LA? In line with the mantra that you can wear any manner of statement accessory wherever you dare, singer and artist Maya Diab took to the beach for some rays in a sequence of summer accessories that are pleading to be copy/pasted into your wardrobe rotation: a knotted headscarf (a turban channeling Beyoncé will also work here), oversized sunglasses, and tassel earrings.

Shoulder-grazing tassel earrings have been a runway regular, often styled with a bare shoulder or asymmetric dress, or to offset a sharply tailored suit. The 2017 look is simply put: go long or go home. For Spring 2017, Oscar de la Renta amplified its offering in a rainbow of hues in beading and silky threads.

Rosantica and IAM by Ileana Makri add contrasts of metals, beads, and diamanté twists to the fold, while Saint Laurent supersized the tassel for the disco, and Eddie Borgo toughened up the trend in metalwork. In the gallery above, Vogue Arabia shops the tassels that tickle our have-to-have it impulses that you can wear around the clock.
