Gigi Hadid has revived her collaboration with the house of Stuart Weitzman for the Fall 2017 season, working with the newly-appointed new creative director Giovanni Morelli. Inspired by the model’s appreciation for the Evil Eye motif, the EyeLove collection reimagines the Stuart Weitzman pointed-toe mule, updated with a shearling toe-box (comfy and a clever, wintry spin). Available in frosted suede, indigo, and ballet suede, the styles are available exclusively at Moda Operandi in the Middle East, but if you’re jetting off to the Big Apple do swing by the brand’s Gigi Mule Pop-Up Shop that launched last night to rapturous applause.
Whereas last Fall’s collaboration saw the Vogue Arabia debut cover girl design a chunky lace-up booty with a achingly-cool athleisure edge, the newly-launched mule is a sleeker design pointing at her evolving style.
No less the collection also revives the collaboration with Pencils of Promise that Weitzman and Hadid ignited last October 2016. The “Gigi Boots” from last year’s range retailed from US $565 – 589 (2119 AED/SAR), and the proceeds went towards the development and build of three schools (Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos) headed up by the charity organization, Pencils of Promise. Further schooling developments will be supported in the same three geographical locations, with proceeds from the EyeLove collection going straight to the charity.
19 hours ago on Instagram, Hadid announced the success of the initiative and declared he collaboration with Weitzman is to continue its commitment to the charity. “Last year, your support of my @stuartweitzman “Gigi Boot” helped fund the building of 3 schools in partnership with @pencilsofpromise. I am proud to announce that my newest collaborative shoe #EYELOVE (launching TODAY) represents our commitment to building an ADDITIONAL 3 SCHOOLS in Ghana, Guatemala, & Laos !!!!!! MY HEART IS SO FULL. Thank you SW & PoP for the opportunity to help kids get the education they deserve, and thank you everyone who supported this collaboration & gave back in doing so! Look Good, Do Good. Let’s do it again. 👁💛📚✏️”
