“I think this is my best Puma collection yet!” exclaims London-based shoe designer Sophia Webster, adding, “It’s the first time we have introduced kids shoes and apparel to the collection, which is obviously a passion of mine with my three little girls to dress.” The third seasonal collaboration between the luxury footwear designer and sportswear giant has resulted in a neon color block collection worthy of a unicorn–an Eighties unicorn that is. Drawing inspiration from ’80s workout gear (cue the classics from Cindy Crawford to Jane Fonda), the collection of sneakers features asymmetrical ruffles, flower appliqués, and lace motifs along with color block, ombré flashes on the toes of sneakers, and tonal mesh lining. Meanwhile, the heavily textured rubber sole and molded rubber inserts on the toe and heel create a bold, chunkier look to balance any overdose of feminine accents.
“It’s such an honor to collaborate with Puma, they are really supportive of my creative ideas and I feel my feminine aesthetic fulfills the gap in the market,’ remarks Webster. The British accessories designer founded her eponymous label in 2012. Her London Fashion Week presentations have showcased unbridled creativity and fantasy to complement her footwear’s whimsical aesthetic. The third collaboration carries over the playful but sophisticated ethos to trainers but also apparel. Among the tees, crews, crop tops, and leggings, and shorts, the reversible crop top is harks of practice ballroom outfits. Shop online and in-store Puma.com Sophiawebster.com
