Bridging the gap between understated fashion and cutting-edge luxury design is new online retailer Themodist.com. The e-commerce fashion destination launched this month with a curated edit of high-end international and regional brands. For women who want to express their personal style and stay ahead of the curve with a conservative aesthetic, the site houses more than 75 brands, including Mary Katrantzou, Alberta Ferretti, and Marni. The retailer also plays host to home grown names such as Madiyah Al Sharqi, which debuted today.
Featuring Al Sharqi’s namesake label’s Spring 2017 collection, the offering comprises long-sleeved maxi gowns and romantic blouses cut from the label’s signature delicate lace. Loose-fit, fringed-hem tops nod to a 1970s aesthetic, and metallic woven jackets make for statement toppers. “Women navigate differently through fashion now,” says Al Sharqi to Vogue Arabia. “We’re always on the pulse of the latest things online so having connection through e-commerce is essential today.”
