Selena Gomez Is Clearly Working On Her Fashion CV

Shortly after making her triumphant spotlight debut at the 2016 American Music Awards in November, Selena Gomez has announced that she is joining forces with American heritage label Coach. The announcement comes fresh off the heels of the brand’s 75th anniversary runway show in New York earlier this month. The 24-year-old will star in the brand’s ad campaigns, a position previously held by 19-year-old actress Chloë G. Moretz, who appeared in two consecutive Spring campaigns for Coach and garnered quite a cult-following in the region.

In addition, Gomez, who took a break from the limelight earlier this year due to complications with Lupus, will be designing a single piece as part of the brand’s 2017 collection in collaboration with creative director Stuart Vevers. However, this isn’t her first foray into fashion: Gomez has appeared in an array of campaigns for Louis Vuitton and Adidas, and designed her own clothing line for Kmart in 2010.

With Gomez conquering red carpets and street style, in addition to having more followers than any other person on Instagram (103 million), the collaboration is hardly a surprise—along with her loyal fan base, she has the potential to instantly revamp the 75-year-old brand.
