Exotic flora and the outside world inspire a new generation of young Saudi jewelry designers. Here, Vogue Arabia looks at some of the most spectacular creations.
Lillian Ismail
Jewelry designer Lillian Ismail takes inspiration for her creations from her hometown of Jeddah. What started out as a high-school graduation project when she was just 17 has developed into a fully fledged career. Ismail is Saudi Arabia’s youngest jewelry designer, and has forged a reputation as one of the region’s most exquisite designers with her namesake jewelry brand.
Luda Jewelry
Dubai-based Saudi label Luda Jewelry launched in 2017 with creative designer Dr Khlood Arab capturing the rich culture of Saudi Arabia in the designs. Using vibrant gemstones and floral structures, Luda Jewelry‘s collections are both elegant and contemporary.
Charmaleena
Established in Jeddah in 2012, Charmaleena takes inspiration from feminine elegance and playful designs. From the creative minds of sisters, and founders, Leena and Hala El Khereiji, Charmaleena’s distinctive pieces fuse contemporary designs with traditional Arabian style.
Sedra
Founded in 2015 by Nora and Lamya Alkhorayef, Sedra’s vibrant creations have captivated the region. The pair have been fascinated with jewelry from a young age, with their designs suitable for both everyday and evening wear.
Nadine Jewellery
Inspired by her father, who has worked in the watch industry for more than 40 years, Nadine Attar, a certified gemologist, launched Nadine Jewellery in 2018. The Saudi label’s designs have been adorned on the red carpet with celebrity fans including Amina Khalil, Hend Sabri, Zendaya, and Yousra.
Nuun Jewels
Founded by HRH Princess Nourah Al-Faisal, Paris-based, Saudi fine-jewelry label Nuun Jewels is inspired by Her Highness’s life, growing up in the rich artistic cultures of Riyadh, Paris, and London. Launched in 2015, Nuun Jewels‘ contemporary, chic designs reflect the iconic patterns of Middle Eastern architecture.
Sheen
Dubai-based fine-jewelry label Sheen was founded by Saudi Arabian designer Nosheen Bakhs in 2013. Passionate about jewelry from a young age, Bakhs turned her creative genius to Sheen after brainstorming for her perfect job. The delicate jewelry designs draw inspiration from social causes, with the brand citing humanity as a core theme behind its pieces.
