How does one get ready to take a virtual front-row seat at a couture show? For Salma Abu Deif, the solution was to balance casual and glammed up in one striking ensemble. Ahead of the Valentino Spring/Summer 2022 couture show in Paris, the Egyptian actor took to Instagram to share her look for the day, picked a head-to-toe look from the Italian fashion house’s repertoire.

The newly-minted 29-year-old could be seen lounging in a vacation-worthy number from Valentino‘s Resort 2022 collection. The oversized cotton-poplin shirt dress featured rainbow-colored chevron stripes and a breezy A-line silhouette. Putting her own spin on the piece, Abu Deif wore the shirt dress with its collars wide open and unbuttoned at the legs to show off her statement patent leather platform pumps, which came in a deep red shade. She completed the look with a VLogo shoulder bag in bubblegum pink, matching one of the stripes in her dress.
What might also have prompted a number of loving comments from fellow actors Hend Sabri, Mila Al Zahrani, and more were Abu Deif’s bare-faced look and effortless hairstyle. The former Vogue Arabia cover star chose to go makeup-free for the day, choosing to highlight fresh skin also by throwing her natural hair up in a messy ponytail and letting a few stray curls frame her face.

The actor is one of the few from the region to be named a Valentino ambassador and frequently stars in the house’s campaigns targeting the Middle East. Since starting her acting career at the age of 20, Abu Deif has also established her place in the fashion world with her ‘cool girl’ style and by working with brands including Chaumet.
