On September 1, Tunisian model and actor Rym Saidi celebrated her marriage to Lebanese TV host Wassim Breidy in a lavish wedding reception surrounded by 800 guests at Lebanon’s Chateau Rweiss. For the occasion, the bride wore a fairytale Georges Hobeika wedding dress to tie the knot. “I am a very simple person and love elegance. This is what I see in Georges Hobeika’s designs,” Saidi tells Vogue Arabia. “I already had prior experience wearing some of his gorgeous designs and was so happy to create my wedding gown with a phenomenal designer that I stylistically connect with,” she says, referring to the Lebanese couturier.

The look was inspired by Andalusian nights, and was reminiscent of Georges Hobeika’s Fall 2017 Haute Couture collection. The 31-year-old’s custom-designed wedding dress took approximately three months to create. The result was a beautiful mermaid gown featuring white silk tulle, exquisitely embroidered with transparent sequins and colored oval beads, and replete with an extravagant, hooded cape fully embroidered in crystals, multi-colored beads and thousands of silk organza, laser cut flowers.
“I am honored to have my wedding gown crafted by an artist of Mr. Hobeika’s caliber and knew that it would result in a truly spectacular dress that perfectly reflects my inner spirit and personal style.”
