Rita Ora Just Redefined Red-Carpet Wit in One Look

Rita Ora is not afraid to take sartorial risks, so it came as no surprise when the British singer decided to eschew form-fitting gowns in favor of something a bit more casual at the MTV EMA 2017 red carpet on Sunday night. Stepping out in a Palomo Spain Spring 2018 white dressing robe, Ora rewrote the red carpet rules in one swift move. The fashion trailblazer elevated the look with a dazzling diamond necklace, earrings, and shoes, and wrapped her lengths in a matching white terry towel.

As it turns out, though, the ultra-casual ensemble was part of a skit, which was played at the start of the music awards ceremony. In it, the “R.I.P” singer is seen being invited to be a host at the last minute, resulting in her rushing through the London Underground in her bathrobe in order to make it to the ceremony on time.

Following the opening scene, the 26-year-old hitmaker displayed a lineup of showstopping outfits throughout the evening, including a Maison Margiela trench coat and a long, ruffled black dress heightened with custom oversized Erickson Beamon earrings, which she wore to close out the show.
