Rihanna Is Already Wearing Saint Laurent’s Spring 2018 It Boots

Saint Laurent Spring 2018. Indigital

Saint Laurent’s highly-Instagrammable fringed boots from its Spring 2018 show may have only debuted on the runway a few days ago, but Rihanna, naturally, is already sporting a pair.  The star doesn’t waste any time in leading the fashion pack, as she declared in her 2012 song “Presh Off the Runway” (also known as “Fresh Off the Runway”). Rihanna treated her 57.1 million Instagram followers to a photo of her wearing the hot off the runway feather embellished boots paired with a black Off-White mini dress, and Raf Simons denim jacket.

The Bad Gal clearly has a penchant for Anthony Vaccarello’s cult footwear. She was also the first to wear the designer’s Niki boots, a pair of glittering, slouchy knee-highs covered with 3,000 Swarovski crystals from the Fall 2017 collection. In another Instagram snap, she paired these with distressed jeans, a graphic T-shirt, and oversized leather jacket. Shortly after Rihanna was seen wearing her Nikis, demand for the US$10,000 a pair diamanté boots skyrocketed, resulting in an impressive waiting list.

Vaccarello’s Yeti boots proved to be an instant hit, immediately topping the wish-lists of fashion editors. Covered with feathers from heel to thigh, the must-have boots come in bold hues of blue, black, and white. While us mere mortals will have to wait a few months yet before we can jump on this off-beat shoe trend (Balenciaga’s Crock platforms, anyone?), in the meantime why not check out Vogue Arabia’s edit of Bad Gal-worthy boots you can wear right now.
