If there were an equivalent to a prom king and queen for fashion month, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky would be it. Following a surprise appearance at Alessandro Michele’s Exquisite Gucci show in Milan – Rihanna in a puff of purple faux fur over her PVC and lace crop top, A$AP toting a monogrammed Gucci briefcase that may or may not have contained their plans for world domination – fashion’s favorite couple jetted to Paris to take in the Off-White autumn/winter 2022 show.

The pregnant singer again demonstrated her commitment to her personal style – no maternity smocks for Rihanna – in a peach leather minidress with strappy sandals and a shearling coat thrown over the top. She completed the look with a statement neckpiece, along with diamond earrings by Maria Tash.

The crowd at the Off-White autumn/winter 2022 show in Paris on Monday night was a reflection of the late Virgil Abloh’s seismic impact on fashion. The brand’s late founder, who died in November, was honored at a presentation where Idris and Sabrina Elba were spied chatting to Pharrell Williams, and supermodel (and former French first lady) Carla Bruni joined footballer Paul Pogba on the front row.

Speaking of supermodels, there were at least a dozen on the runway, both original and new-gen. Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen and Amber Valletta represented the old guard, while Cindy’s daughter Kaia, Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid all also walked.

Abloh’s death at the age of 41 on 28 November 2021, following a private battle with cancer, rocked the fashion industry. “As a leader of change, the impact of his work cannot be overstated,” said British Vogue’s Edward Enninful on stage at the Fashion Awards, which took place the day after the visionary designer’s passing.
