The Givenchy Rottweiler Gets a Makeover

Since its runway debut in 2011, the rottweiler has become the unofficial emblem of GivenchyRiccardo Tisci, the brand’s artistic director, has featured the growling canine motif—which was inspired by a Boy Scouts book—on everything from sweatshirts and T-shirts to backpacks and purses, which have been seen on celebrities including Rihanna, Liv Tyler, and Kanye West, as well as street style stars. Now, Tisci is giving the menacing dog a graphic makeover. In his newly-launched limited edition capsule collection for men, aptly named “The Rottweiler,” the new manifestation sees a white sketch of the logo take center stage on T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, shoes, bags, and an iPad case.

The 2017 Givenchy Rottweiler lineup is an extended part of the brand’s Spring 2017 collection, and is available for pre-order at Barneys in New York and at Givenchy’s flagship store on New York’s Madison Avenue. Pieces range from US $170 to $950.
