Reem Acra Paints an Ethereal Dream for Spring 2019

Her glamorous creations have been sported by everyone from Emily Ratajkowski to Kristen Stewart, and judging by Reem Acra‘s latest collection, we have a feeling we’ll be seeing them on plenty more red carpets to come. For Spring 2019, the Beirut-born designer has dialed back the embellishments in favor of a delicate line-up of poised, ethereal gowns brimming with an otherworldly airiness. Ornate bejeweling has been replaced with gossamer-thin fabrics and dreamy, diaphanous silhouettes. Balletic strapless gowns in nude tones, romantic veils, and 50s-inspired tea-length hemlines delivered a fullness of volume, with a smattering of metallics used sparingly throughout. “I wanted [the collection] to be very precise and not overwhelming,” Acra told WWD of the Ready-to-Wear line.
