After a week of celebrating Saudi talent, the 2023 Red Sea International Film Festival came to an end with a star-studded closing ceremony last night. In Jeddah, actors, models, and directors from the region and beyond convened for a final chapeau to the burgeoning creative scene in the Kingdom. Spotted on the red carpet were some of the Arab world’s favorites including Egyptian stars Yousra and Amina Khalil, Tunisian actor Dorra Zarrouk, and Saudi actors Fatima Al Banawi and Mila Al Zahrani.
Naturally, sartorial excellence was on full display, with Zarrouk opting for a statement off-the-shoulder black gown by Rami Kadi, which came with a glittering bodice and a flared-out skirt. The look was a stark contrast from her previous outfit for the Ferrari premiere earlier that day which saw the star wear a demure white and silver kaftan dress by Khaled and Marwan. After wearing a series of ultra-feminine gowns throughout the festival, Al Banawi ditched dresses to go for a standout look by Azzi & Osta which featured a long coat and trousers. The cream-colored outfit came with gold embroidery all over, as well as a playful face detail at the back.
Among the international stars in attendance was Academy Award-winner Halle Berry, who championed the region in a fully-embroidered black and bronze couture gown by Elie Saab. Indian actor Alia Bhatt was spotted in a grey Miss Sohee gown with purple floral detailing and voluminous sleeves, while Thai star Davika went with a ruffled Robert Wun number, and acclaimed American actor Gwyneth Paltrow walked the red carpet in a minimalistic yellow Carolina Herrera dress.
