Raya Abirached is a seasoned television presenter, so it hardly comes as a surprise that the Lebanese co-host of Arab’s Got Talent was selected to present the second edition of the annual El Gouna International Film Festival, which is set to kick off on September 20 in the Egyptian resort town.
Abirached is known best for her hit TV show Scoop With Raya, where she interviews A-list celebrities from the Arab world and beyond and reports from major star-studded events such as the Oscars and the Cannes Film Festival. And when the self-titled “celebrity spotter” is not scrutinizing what the A-list wore on the red carpet, she is dishing out memorable looks all of her own.
The Lebanese TV host, who has a well-documented track record of turning heads on the red carpet, makes a point of supporting homegrown talent. Just recently, Abirached stunned at the 2018 Venice International Film Festival wearing an elegant canary-colored gown custom designed by Beirut-based designer Lama Askari before hopping on a flight to attend the Toronto International Film Festival, where she rocked the designer again. She also favors designs by Lebanese-Italian couturier Tony Ward, donning his pieces to the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, the 90th Academy Awards, and the 2017 BAFTAs.
