A few months after the 2016 DDFC/Vogue Fashion Prize gala, where Lebanese fine jewelry designer Ralph Masri was given a special prize of US $15,000; 55,091 AED/SAR, the designer told Vogue Arabia, confidentially: “Just before the jury presentation, I showed the collection to Harvey Nichols Dubai. You can imagine my nerves that day.” If the Fashion Prize jury was taken with Masri’s frank talk, hands-on approach, and graphic collection of gem-studded jewels, so was Harvey Nichols—the region’s premier fine jewelry department store picked up the collection two weeks after Masri received the prize.

The Central Saint Martins grad (and self-proclaimed foodie) was at Place Vendôme to showcase his pieces during Paris Fashion Week. Masri explained that he used his Fashion Prize money to finance the Fall 2017 collection’s expansion and respond to his clients’ request for color.

Indeed Nevena Borissova, owner of boutique Curve, which stocks Ralph Masri in the USA, explained that her clients simply “could not get enough of the brand.” Now, the stones of the season, emeralds, speckle the Art Deco collection pieces while pavé versions are available exclusively at Harvey Nichols Dubai. Masri’s Sacred Windows collection, inspired by the stained glass windows of cathedrals, is also in-store.
