Soon after announcing the engagement of her son, Crown Prince Hussein, to Rajwa Al-Saif, HM Queen Rania of Jordan took to Instagram to welcome the bride-to-be as her “third daughter”. The sweet message is indicative of the relationship the mother and daughter-in-law have come to share, which includes loaning and borrowing accessories for special occasions.
For her engagement ceremony in Riyadh, Al-Saif wore an embroidered abaya from Lebanese brand Orient 499 with a bronze belt, which appears to be given to her by Queen Rania. The metallic piece was worn by the Jordanian royal in May 2019, at the country’s Independence Day ceremony in Amman.
Queen Rania has also shared a pair of earrings with the future princess, which was spotted in one of the post-engagement portraits of the couple. Standing alongside husband-to-be Prince Hussein, Al-Saif wore a multicolored skirt and white shirt by Italian designer Sara Roka, which she accessorized with a lilac belt, light blue Valentino pumps, and Stephen Webster earrings originally owned by Queen Rania. The Plumage earrings are from the brand’s Magnipheasant collection and were custom-made for the royal by replacing emeralds with yellow diamonds. They have been worn by Queen Rania for multiple events, including the Social Good Summit in New York, in 2015.
Given Queen Rania’s noteworthy style and her eye for stunning creations by both local and international designers, expect to see the mother and daughter-in-law share more pieces in the future.
