Since stepping into the spotlight more than two decades ago, Queen Rania has come to be known for her sophisticated and impeccable sense of style. However, dressing up for royal appointments does not mean that Her Majesty only reaches for neutral, understated pieces. While the mother-of-four has worn a number of white and light-toned looks, she is not afraid of sporting bright colors every now and then.
Queen Rania’s love for color translates into multi-hued embroidery on traditional dresses, bright solids paired with black or white, and even color blocking. Red and green, which appear on Jordan’s flag seem to be her favorite colors to wear, especially when representing the country at diplomatic meetings abroad. To receive the 2021 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity alongside HM King Abdullah II in Abu Dhabi, the royal wore a striking red skirt paired with a white cotton shirt. She also wore the color in the form of a belted dress by Lebanese label Bazaza, when she met with the US first lady Jill Biden in Washington DC in 2021. Celebrations in Jordan also see the Kuwait-born royal show pride for her adopted home country. For the 73rd Independence Day, Queen Rania wore an olive green kaftan with golden details, and a white number with bright blue panels for the next year’s event.
