Priyanka Chopra’s Cannes Film Festival Look by This Saudi Designer Celebrates Female Empowerment

There is no doubt that in a short amount of time, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has established herself as a global style icon. From film premieres to casual dinner dates, Chopra Jonas has been serving up some memorable looks, so when it came to her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2019, we knew it was going to be something special.

In the past few days, Chopra Jonas has stepped out in a custom Robert Cavalli gown, a Fendi dress, and a Georges Hobeika trailing number. But what stood out was her first look – a pleated corset jumpsuit in ivory by Saudi Arabia brand, Honayda. “Mimi [Cuttrell] is a very sharp stylist and knows very well how to flatter Priyanka Chopra’s body. The colors that shine her out and cuts that show off her best assets. She chose a Honayda look that is both feminine with the corset, and extremely powerful at the same time, translating the attitude of the boss women,” explained designer Honayda Serafi. Part of her fall-winter 2019 collection titled ‘One Love’, the jumpsuit with its curvy corset and pleated trousers is a “wink to all the superwomen out there who wear their invisible capes.”

The positive response Serafi received for this look has given her a boost and energy that pushes her to create more, she told Vogue.me. Female strength is the ethos of the brand which implements messages of female strength, independence, and individuality. The designer has previously included words of expression right on the clothes themselves. “Priyanka is the ideal representation of a Honayda woman — a powerful accomplished woman behind a perfectly feminine figure; she firmly completes the vision of the brand,” she told Vogue.me.
