The Princess of Wales may be in the midst of a sartorial reinvention (see the vintage Chanel jacket she wore for a visit to Olympic Park earlier this month), but there are certain royal fashion staples she clearly has no intention of giving up. Most definitely here to stay: anything and everything polka-dotted – a favorite print of Diana, Princess of Wales in her Sloane Ranger era.
Over the weekend, the Duchess wore a navy blouse while highlighting the Take Action On Addiction campaign – encouraging support for those battling the disease in a video filmed in front of a table covered with photographs of the Cambridges. (Visible on the right? Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s portrait marking the latter’s first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea.) With a prim white collar – and her signature bouncy curls in place – Kate Middleton appeared both polished and relaxed.

It’s the Princess’s drop pearl earrings, though, that are worth investing in. Kate has several pairs from a variety of brands – with Annoushka’s 18-Carat Gold Baroque Pearl Earring Drops among her most-worn pieces of jewelry. Retailing at £425, the Duchess has worn the timeless, versatile style on occasions ranging from her first family photo with Prince William and Prince George to a walkabout at Windsor after the Queen’s death earlier this year.
Prefer a more avant-garde style? Kate has also endorsed Maria Black’s Cha Cha Earrings, wearing the Danish designer’s creations – which are sold individually – during a trip to Copenhagen earlier this year. Even more directional: the Simone Rocha Curb-Chain Earrings that the Duchess debuted at the Natural History Museum back in 2020. The exact style is now sold out, but the designer’s newer Hoop Earrings with Faux Pearls are a perfect substitute.
