Prada has rocketed onto the Resort runway scene with its first collection, which offered up flurries of feathers, chainmail metallic accents, and layered sheer panelling with a lingerie-for-daylight twist that will delight its loyal clientele. While braids made a comeback on the beauty front, Vogue Arabia cuts to the key style take-homes from Prada Resort 2018 to wear in the Gulf to keep you on cue for this season and the next.
Taking place in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Miuccia Prada’s debut into Resort evolved the sartorial twists of the Spring and Fall mainline collections.
The 1950s-inspired fuzzy sleeves are ever-present, and the chunky sports footwear in slick silhouette is further developed with branded sports socks unapologetically pulled up to the knees to make way for delicate dresses punctuated with diamanté. Playful, feminine, and styled with tomboy accessories, the spindling clutches of tough leather in rectangular proportions will delight all style tribes. Here we look at the key runway notes:
#1: Off-the-shoulder tailoring is on-point.
#2: The Great Gatsby-esque two-piece gets elevated with feathers and chainmail.
#3: Pastel colors blended with carbon black make up a perfect outfit for day-to-night transitions.
#4: Sequin pencil skirts and sports socks are a strong juxtaposition for daywear.
#5: Make the outerwear as underwear key pieces work with solid daytime accessories like a thick black belt.
#6: Matte leather, patent leather, jewels, pastel pieces, sports luxe, and transparent fabrics, oh my! It can work if the strut is confident and the silhouette is decidedly feminine, according to Prada’s Resort 2018 runway.
