Over the years, Italian luxury fashion house Prada has sealed its spot among the world’s most well renowned brands, and is much-loved for its unique aesthetic, which blurs the lines between polarizing aesthetics. And with its latest offerings, seen in a luxe spread in the pages of Vogue Arabia’s December 2021 issue, the label seems to be changing all the rules of end-of-year dressing.
Stark minimalism collides with decadent maximalism, modern elements spruce up classic details, and cheery embellishment adds a festive spin to the staples donned by the models, all in a quietly elegant palette of ebonies, soothing grays, and soft lilacs. The collection, both for women and men, channels a universal appeal via its relaxed, clean silhouettes, but stands out from the crowd for its smart use of sequins and subtle glitter. Add to that a smattering of pavé-set crystals, silver studs and cheeky metallic lurex tights, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate December wardrobe—comfortable, cosy, yet undeniably chic.
With its cutting edge designs, Prada has consistently challenged the way the world looks at fashion, pushing the envelope one collection at a time. And the same can be said for the pieces in front of our lens. Scroll through to see a sweet polka-dotted pussybow blouse get an after-hours update with a shimmery chiffon shirt, and an equally feminine pleated tea skirt in lavender go rogue when paired with a sparkling black tulle crop. Instead of killer heels, the looks are paired with metallic loafers and sling backs, and Prada’s classic Cleo bags and totes get a dip in a pool of silver for a high-shine finish. What better way to spend the night on the town than in party pieces that celebrate the joy of everyday wear?
