Playful, happy and above all else, colorful – three words that perhaps best describe the eternally optimistic Lebanese designer Mira Mikati and her vibrantly kitsch collections. Paris-raised and now London-based, the designer’s kaleidoscopic ready to wear, accessories and collaborative capsules are the sort of instant mood-boosting items a world in crisis so desperately needs. The fact that she has named her recently opened first flagship store in London’s Chelsea neighborhood, the “Happy House,” only serves to reaffirm her endorphin-enhancing mission. Here, the designer shares some of her most treasured possessions.

1. Roxanne Assoulin bracelets: “I love these Rainbow Brite bracelets – they’re part of my wrist so it feels like something is wrong when I’m not wearing them. I literally take them off only when I sleep and put them back on as soon as I wake up.”

2. Hand-knitted charm dolls: “These dolls are from my collaboration with Japanese artist Mr. and they’re great company – I take them everywhere. Just looking at them makes me happy, especially as we are currently in ‘home staycation’ mode together.”

3. Large shopper bag: “This bag is from a customizable collection I did with Paris-based brand L/Uniform – it’s the perfect size. Roomy enough to fit my computer, water bottle, vitamins, scarf and anything else that I might need. Under normal circumstances I take it to work with me every day.”

4. Superga sneakers: “I literally have ‘happy feet’ when I wear these sneakers. We created three styles with Superga – I wear them all on rotation.”

5. Kure Bazaar nail polish: “My favorite color is a mint green called Caicos; just wearing it on my nails makes me feel like I’m holidaying somewhere nice and sunny. The brand creates all-natural and environmentally-friendly products, too.”

6. Bibliothèque Blanche Be@rbricks: “I have a collection of seven mini be@rbricks with multicolored bright ears that sit next to the window of my bedroom; they’re the first thing that I see when I wake up and the last thing I see when I close my curtains at night… happy bears to always make me smile.”

7. Lemon tree: “Looking at this tree makes me feel like it’s Spring before Spring has come! I’m proud to see it carry all those lemons despite what I believe to be some poor gardening skills on my part.”

8. Darcel bomber jacket: “This was my very first artist collaboration yet I still always pack it when I’m traveling; it gives me a genuine feel-good vibe and it doesn’t wrinkle.”

9. A Mira Mikati sculpture by Mr.: “I just love how Mr. sees me – a rainbow girl with rainbow hair wearing a rainbow sweater, some long socks and lots of hairpins, with shiny eyes dreaming of yet more colors.”

10. Wild & the Moon juice: “Filled with superfoods for overall wellness – I start my day with it.”
