Hot off the heels of his runway debut at Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2017 collection show last month, Pharrell Williams is set to front the storied brand’s Gabrielle handbag advertisement campaign, due to be revealed in April. Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself, the Happy singer will be the first male to star in a handbag advertisement for the maison. Lagerfeld’s long-term muse Cara Delevingne and brand ambassadors Caroline de Maigret and Kristen Stewart (who already shot the campaign in Paris) will all be joining him in the campaign, photographed individually.

The Gabrielle handbag was unveiled on the runway amid the brand’s Spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection, featuring a quilted, soft-structured silhouette, complete with a sturdy base and double-chain strap.

This is not the first time the new brand ambassador has collaborated with the creative director; Williams starred in the short film Reincarnation, created and directed by Lagerfeld. Complementing Chanel’s Paris-Salzburg Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2015 collection, Williams also created the film’s soundtrack, CC The World.
